Description
Bangle made from copper wire with a lightly hammered finish. The copper has some flexibility which helps for getting it on and off and for sizing. It is sold in a black presentation box. About 5.5cm high. It has a layer of lacquer to protect it, but this may rub off with time and wear.
I have more than one size of these bangles. The very small is about 5.8-6cm diameter, the small is about 6.2-6.4cm diameter (so probably about right for a slimmer female wrist), the medium is about 6.5cm diameter (so more of a normal female wrist or smaller male wrist) and the large is about 7cm diameter (so better for knobbly hands or bigger wrists/hands).
To get the bangle on or off, I suggest twisting it as you try to move it. It seems to help.
I make this bangle starting with copper wire. I cut a length and smooth the cut ends. Then I polish it and lightly hammer the length. Using pliers to grip the copper, I twist the ends into circles. This can leave tiny marks on the copper. Once I have the ends shaped, I wrap the copper around a bracelet mandrel. This gives a round bangle. I polish it again, then lacquer it.
For a version without hammering I have –
I also have a version with an extra loop of wire –
