Description
Enamelled copper yin yang symbol wall hanging or wall art. It is mounted in a wood-effect frame with watercolour background. I cut the yin yang circle out of sheet copper, then enamelled it in black and white vitreous enamels. The white was done after the black and so a little of the black comes through still. I also painted the watercolour background, which helps the yin yang to stand out. The watercolour is a graduated peachy colour.
The frame is 25cm by 30cm and a pale oak colour. There is no glass in the frame because the yin yang is not completely flat (and doesn’t need glass protection). In the kiln, copper can sag a little on the stand, so my enamelled pieces are not flat. The sagging gives a slightly 3D effect which I like.
