Copper flower, based on a waterlily, with a wooden base. The base is reclaimed wood, stained dark oak colour. The flower is about 10cm tall and 10cm diameter across the leaf.
The flower has been treated with lacquer to try to keep the bright copper colour, but it may still go darker with time, especially in damp or warm conditions. The wooden base has been stained to an old oak colour.
I make the copper flowers by cutting out layers of petals, any sepal and leaves from sheet copper, texturing these and then brazing them onto a copper pipe or wire stem. The top and bottom layer of petals are brazed into place with the other layers sandwiched between them. This does mean that the layers can sometimes move, but if they do move, they can easily be put back into place. Brazing can leave some silvery or dark marks and I’ve included a photo from above to show these marks.
Every item I make is unique, therefore the one you receive may differ a little from the one shown in the photo. Currently I only one of these made so if you would like more than one it will take a bit of time to make. If you want a variation to this item, please get in touch because I can do custom orders. Also, please get in touch if you would like more information.
