Round copper necklace with copper wire woven through the side and enamelled in mostly blues and browns. The necklace is on a waxed cotton cord and is presented in a black box. I made the necklace by cutting a circle of copper with a jewellers saw, drilling holes through the copper and then enamelling it. Initially I used a clear enamel, giving creamy brown shades, and then a mixture of mostly opaque blue shades was added for the last firing. After enamelling, I wove copper wire through the holes. The cord is slightly longer than often, at about 70cm total length and it has no clasp – instead it’s been left to be knotted to the desired length. The back of the necklace has been enamelled in black because the enamel on the back stops it warping too much in the kiln. The black has overfired so looks a little blue/purple in places. One photo shows the back. The pendant is about 3.5cm high.
