Enamelled copper flower, based on fritillaria, with a wooden base. The base has been stained dark oak colour. The flower and leaves have been enamelled with vitreous enamel – the flower is white with a creamy pattern.
The flower is about 19cm tall.
This flower featured in the Emporium section of Country Living magazine (‘February 2021’ issue).
The inside of the flower and the back of the leaves will have some marks from how they’re supported in the kiln during enamelling or from brazing it onto the stem. The enamel will also be uneven at the top of the petals because the flower is shaped as the last step. On the flower I have in stock at the moment, at the base of one leaf is a tiny ripple in the enamel, that looks a little like a crack except it’s curved and only on one side. It was formed when I was brazing the leaf onto the stem and I’ve included a photo of it.
