Description
Interlocking bangle made from copper wire. It has a layer of lacquer to protect it, but this may rub off with time and wear. The copper has been lightly hammered.
I make this bangle or bracelet by twisting the ends of a length of copper wire into a loop. I then bend the wire into a round shape. The next step is a bit fiddly to lock the ends into each other. I lightly hammer it, which makes it a bit more rigid as well as a bit more interesting. To finish it, I polish it then lacquer it. It comes in a black presentation box.
I currently have three variations – small, medium and large. Small has a diameter of 6cm so for a small wrist, medium has a diameter of 6.5-7cm and large has a diameter of 7.2-8cm. The large bangle is slightly oval so it sits better on your wrist. The bangle doesn’t open to help with getting it on and off – twisting the bangle to get it on or off seems to help. The height of the knot is about 2.5cm maximum.
For a version without hammer marks I have –
Copper wire bangle with interlocking knot design
